Track 4:  Doralice

Being in Denmark for just over a year now, I’m blasting through language classes.  I’m determined to be fluent in Danish soon.  It is a tough language.  So is Portuguese.  I guess I’m just a glutton for punishment 🙂

I just can’t resist the story of Doralice.  It is about the inevitability of love and how dangerous it is.  In spite of the danger, we plunge in heart first. Now that we’re involved, what are we going to do about it?  I’ll save singing in Danish for the next CD.

Who’s Responsible: Aaron Serfaty
Instrument: Drums
The Connection:  Aaron and I were colleagues together at USC before we became great friends.  Originally from Venezuela, he brings his latino fire to every gig and every lesson he teaches.  He has teased me and encouraged me to explore more of the music of Latin America.  He has worked with me on everything from shaker technique to festejo and lando grooves.  Muchas gracias (obrigada, tusind tak, etc.) Aaron for not letting me wimp out on this stuff.  I’ll be “practically native” before you know it. 🙂

I'll sing to you on your birthday!

Seriously. I'll do it. Join my mailing list and you'll also receive the latest news on releases, projects, and tour dates.
