Thanks to Mark McDonald at Edhat for the review and the pictures!

“I might not know much about jazz, but I know what I like when I hear it. I loved the Kristin Korb Trio swinging Sunday afternoon at SOhO.

Kristin’s wonderful jazz vocalizations and electrified double bass were backed by John Proulx’s refreshing piano and Dave Tull’s inventive drum riffs in their versions of timeless tunes and original arrangements during their two sets sponsored by the Santa Barbara Jazz Society.

One notable song, “Everybody Wants to Be a Cat” from the “Aristocrats” featured each musician trading scat vocals. Kristin’s big double-bass booming out like another voice on stage.

Kristin was formerly based in the Los Angeles area where she taught at the University of Southern California as coordinator of vocal jazz studies. Recently married in Santa Barbara, she currently lives in Copenhagen with her Danish husband.”
