It is 6am here in Rochester, New York and I’m thrilled to be here.
Today, is the first day of our 2013 ISB convention. We’re expecting around 1,200 bassists from all over the world to meet here this week to play, educate, inspire and connect with each other. I’ve been to a lot of other festivals and conventions over the years, but none of them are ever quite like ISB.
My first visit was as an artist in 1999 in Iowa City. I was there for only 1 day because I didn’t understand the stuff that happens. The next time, I stayed for 3 days. Now, I’m the convention chair.
I will be silent here on this website this week. If you want to find me, head over to isbconvention.com. You don’t have to be a bass player to enjoy it.
See you soon!
