You’ve Never Heard It Like This Before!
Kristin Korb Reignites “I’ve Got A Life”.
“As soon as I listened to the song, I knew I could put my own spin on it!” – Kristin Korb
Acclaimed American bassist and vocalist Kristin Korb releases her third single, I’ve Got A Life, from her upcoming Eurythmics tribute album “Sweet Dreams” on September 27. Following the previous singles “There Must Be An Angel” and “Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves”, Kristin continues her innovative journey, weaving fresh jazz arrangements with timeless Eurythmics hits.
A Personal Take on a Timely Message
For Kristin Korb, I’ve Got A Life stood out as a vibrant and original Eurythmics composition she hadn’t encountered before her research. Kristin connects deeply with the song’s lyrics, which resonate with today’s social challenges: “The world is going through so much right now, but this song fuels my determination to continue fighting for a better future”, she says. This empowering anthem becomes more than just a cover — it’s a rallying call for hope and positive change.
A Collaborative Jazz Masterpiece
Kristin Korb seamlessly blends her skills as a bassist and vocalist, delivering a captivating rendition that honors the original while showcasing her unique artistry. Harmonica virtuoso Mathias Heise sets the tone with a soulful introduction, while saxophonist Karl-Martin Almqvist and trombonist Steen Nikolaj Hansen amplify the communal spirit of the track. Yohan Ramon‘s percussion further elevates the urgency and power of the message.
The journey began with a sensational live debut of reimagined Eurythmics songs at the legendary Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen, Denmark, in September 2023. The audience’s enthusiastic response spurred Kristin and her band to capture this magic in the studio, resulting in 12 carefully curated tracks that embody the essence of Eurythmics with a jazz twist.
Joining Kristin on this exciting project are her trusty bandmates, Magnus Hjorth on piano and Snorre Kirk on drums. The track “I’ve Got A Life” features the multi-award-winning Danish harmonica player Mathias Heise, whose performance is a standout presence throughout the entire song.
