It all started with a walk in the forest during the lockdown of 2021. I was thinking about all the poor students that wouldn’t be able to finish the school year with their big spring concerts. (Those were some of my favorites as a student.)

Then, I thought that I could be their final concert with folks singing with me on my video for “The Power of Love”. (Back to the Future was THE movie for us choir geeks in 1985.)

I got a lot of wonderful responses from choirs all over the world. With almost 100 students submitting videos, we had to figure out how to get all of their faces on the screen. I was inspired by Jacob Collier’s video of “Moon River” and thought “How difficult could that be?”

Turns out that it is incredibly involved process, especially if you’ve never edited a video before. Lucky for me, I’m married to a man who isn’t afraid of a steep learning curve. Morten’s nickname is “Saver of asses” for a reason. Most often, mine. ?

It is finally done and I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am. For a couple of total film-making newbies, I think it turned out pretty well. My eternal gratitude goes out to all of the friends, teachers, and students that wanted to be a part of our “spring concert”. You’re all amazing!

I'll sing to you on your birthday!
