I’m a big fan of summer.  Long, warm days, relaxed evenings with friends, lots of grilled meats and fresh salads and tomatoes that taste like candy are a few of my favorite things.  I also love how music moves outdoors as well. We kicked it off in May with a fun jazz brunch event in Bagsværd Denmark.  The gig was right on the lake and the day was perfect for hanging out with the music.

We’re continuing the fun for the rest of this summer.  These events are family friendly, so bring the entire gang.

THIS FRIDAY, JUNE 17:  Roskilde Jazz Days

We’ve got the ever amazing Bob Rockwell with us for this concert.  (We had a little rehearsal Monday. I will just say that he is beyond inspiring.) Our concert is from 16:00-18:00, but the festival is swinging all weekend long. Come early to check out the Viking Ship Museum and walk over to the jazz tent for a beverage, ice cream, and a little music.  The music is free and seating is limited, so you might want to claim your space early. Here’s the FULL PROGRAM.

JULY 1-10: Copenhagen Jazz Festival

If you’re in the Copenhagen area, make sure to wander the city from July 1-10 to enjoy all the sounds wafting through parks and out onto the streets.  The Copenhagen Jazz Festival is one of the world’s largest and has something for everyone.  We’ll definitely be out and about to hear friends and discover new artists that we’ve never heard before.

July 1 @ Restaurant Maven | kl 18:30 | FREE
Nikolaj Plads 10, København | tlf 32 20 11 00

This has become an annual event for the trio (with Magnus Hjorth & Snorre Kirk).  Reserve a table so you can order a delicious dinner.  I can’t begin to tell you how we look forward to eating after we’re done playing.  If you’re not up for dining, order a beverage and hang out under the trees.

July 2 @ PH Cafeen | kl 14:30 | 150dkk at the door
Halmtorvet 9A, København | tlf 33 21 81 80

We’ve got a special guest with us for this show: pianist Emmet Cohen.  If you haven’t heard him yet, you are in for a real treat.  (I’ve known him since he was a college student in Miami.  He is doing great things out in the world.) His main gig is playing piano for the Jazzhus Montmartre Jam sessions, but Snorre and I have him to ourselves for 2 sets!  It is going to be a fun mix of standards, surprises and a side of reunion blues 🙂

July 6 @ Bartoff Station | kl. 15:00 | 80 dkk
Solbjergvej 3 A 2000 Frederiksberg

Jacob Fischer and I are doing our duo thing again. It is always a spontaneous rollicking adventure with Jacob.  We only get to do this a few times a year, so be sure to reserve your seats now.  Our last gig together (at Cafe Divino this past May) sold out months in advance.

August 24 @ Svanekegården | kl.19:30 | 180,- excl gebyr
Skippergade 2, 3740 Svaneke

We’re closing our Danish summer with the final show on Bornholm.  I don’t know if it was the ice cream I ate at Mermaid Universe or what, but last year’s trio concert was extra special:

En magisk aften i august 2015 sluttede alt for hurtigt og vi var ikke i tvivl om at den succes måtte vi gentage, så flere kunne få chancen til at opleve denne fantastiske trio.

Det lykkedes og vi glæder os til at genhøre og gense Kristin Korb på bas og vokal med swingende musik, historier og smittende humør og selvfølgelig Magnus Hjorth på piano og Snorre Kirk på trommer.

We hope to see you soon and often.

I'll sing to you on your birthday!

Seriously. I'll do it. Join my mailing list and you'll also receive the latest news on releases, projects, and tour dates.
